Apomu Descendants Union Donates Furniture Materials To Schools In Apomu community
As part of the gains of the education policy reversal in Osun, the Apomu Descendants Union has demonstrated it's readiness to assist government in moving the state"s education sector forward through the donation of furniture materials worth millions of naira to selected schools in Apomu. Receiving the materials on behalf of the state government, the Honorable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin thanked the donors, expressing delight that the education policy reversal is yielding expected results. While also thanking the Alapomu of Apomu kingdom, Oba Kayode Afolabi for supervising the gesture to fruition, the Commissioner explained that education is not something that the government can shoulder alone but needs partnership from all education stakeholders. While admonishing the students to take their future serious, the commissioner urged the students of Apomu community to be focused especially on their studies so they can turn out to be important people in life. In his speech, the Alapomu of Apomu kingdom, HRM Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi Atoyebi II advised the students to be humble and always listen to their teachers as they are in school to make progress on their future. The Monarch further advised the students to makes judicious use of the items that have been donated and urging them not to allow the situation of the country discourage them from focusing on their studies as opportunities could open for them anytime in life . In his welcome address the Chairman, Apomu Descendants Union, Engr. Soliu Abass thanked the state for the reversal of education policies in the state stating that it will bring more friendly relationship between the government and stakeholders in Education. He however promised that the furniture materials will be donated to more schools across the community in phases.
